Price: USD 1000 full day, whole boat. Cheaper options available with a smaller boat (USD 600 full day). Half day options also available but a full day is highly recommended for marlin.
For topwater casting (big GT etc.) and excellent jigging, Lamu in the north is a world class option with all inclusive packages. Price: Around USD 1700 per day, whole boat, including meals and accommodation for 4 people + return transfers from the airport

Trip Info & Insights
From January to end of March, Kenya is one of the best places in the world to target billfish, including marlin (mainly blues and striped) & sailfish. It’s mainly trolling for the billfish, with the possibility of casting for tuna and mahi, etc., and jigging as well. For topwater casting (big GT etc.) and excellent jigging, Lamu in the north is a world class option.
Gear: Provided by the charter but feel free to bring your own heavy popping set up for the yellowfin tuna, 10000 or 14000 reel, PE 4 to 8. Medium casting set up for mahi, etc. PE 3. Medium jigging set up, 8000 to 10000 reel, PE 2.5 to 4.
Recommended accommodation: Any resort in Watamu. Diani also an option, depending on which part of the coast is fishing best for billfish at the time.
How to get there: Fly into Mombasa airport then take a taxi. A driver can be organised for you if needed.
