Trip Info & Insights
Big yellowfin tuna very close to shore. A lot of wahoo, big mahi/dorado, king mackerel as well and quite a few sailfish. It’s a combination of trolling and casting, and if the conditions allow, jigging as well. Amazing food at Promised Land accommodation, they will cook your catch.
Gear: Provided by the charter but feel free to bring your own. Heavy popping set up for the yellowfin tuna, 10000 or 14000 reel, PE 4 to 8. Medium casting set up for mahi, etc. PE 3. Medium jigging set up, 8000 to 10000 reel, PE 2.5 to 4.

How to get there: Fly into Zanzibar airport then take a taxi. A driver can be organised for you if needed.
